Tights & Socks

Let's talk about tights.  One of the main identifiers of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends is those bright and cheerful green and white striped tights.

The tights have changed over the years as manufacturers have changed.  Below is a comparison picture of the trademark green and white tights.


A) Vintage era tights.

B) THQ era tights.  I'm not sure if these were ever the same shade of green as the others.  All of the green stripes whether they are on tights, bows, socks, etc are this same shade of yellow-y green.  A note about these tights: I have yet to get them on a doll.  The one time I did, they split at the seams and were about 1/4 inch too short in the stride.

C) Hasbro tights worn by the 2010 Anniversary 3-pack.  The stripes are much narrower than the others.  They are almost as narrow as the tights from the vintage Brazilian dolls.

D) Bridge Direct tights.  The stripes are wider than the others.  These tights are also worn by the 2009 Hasbro doll.

Vintage Era:

A) These tights are worn by all grown-up, regular issued, Party Pleaser, and Sweet Sleeper dolls from the vintage era, with the exception of Huckleberry Pie, Almond Tea, Crepe Suzette, and Raspberry Tart Sweet Sleeper.

B) These tights are worn by Cherry Cuddler, Apple Dumplin Party Pleaser and Cherry Cuddler Party Pleaser.

C) These tights are worn by the Berrykin dolls.

THQ Era:

A) These tights are included in the alternate outfits for all THQ dolls except Strawberry Shortcake "Berry Sweet Sleepover."

B) These tights are worn by Lime Chiffon "Dance N Berry-cise."

C) These tights are worn by Lemon Meringue "Berry Fun Shopping."

D) These tights are worn by Orange Blossom "Dancin' Berry Fun."

Modern Era:

A) These tights are worn by Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Tart, and Orange Blossom in the 2010 Anniversary 3-pack from Hasbro.

B) These tights are worn by the 2009 Hasbro Strawberry Shortcake doll and the following Bridge Direct classic dolls: Strawberry Shortcake (standalone, TRU 3-pack, friends 2-packs, Bake Shoppe, Berry Happy Home), Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Tart, Lemon Meringue, Lime Chiffon, Angel Cake, and Orange Blossom.

C) These tights are worn by Lemon Meringue from the Bridge Direct Strawberry Shortcake / Lemon Meringue 2-pack.

Socks:

A) Almond Tea's socks from the vintage era.

B) Blueberry Muffin's socks from the "Berry Neat Eats" THQ doll.

C) Strawberry Shortcake's socks from the "Berry Best Party" THQ doll.

D) Strawberry Shortcake's socks from the "Berry Beauty Shop" THQ doll.

E) Strawberry Shortcake's socks from the "Berry Beach Park" THQ doll.

F) Huckleberry Pie's and Blueberry Muffin's socks from the Bridge Direct classic dolls.

All of these socks are worn under shoes.
